Application of Frequency Converter in Powder Selector

The powder selector is a wind-powered classification device used in dry production grinding systems. Its function is to select qualified products from the grinding materials in a timely manner. It is widely used in coal mills, raw material unloading drying mills and cement mill systems in new dry cement production lines. Common powder selectors include cyclone type powder selectors, three-separation powder selectors, centrifugal powder selectors, coal mill special powder selectors, calcium powder special powder selectors, etc. Traditional powder selectors have the disadvantages of low production efficiency, complicated debugging and maintenance, and low product quality. With the development and extensive application of frequency converter technology, the defects of traditional powder selectors have been improved, bringing considerable economic benefits to the industry.

SOWAKAM frequency converters have been maturely applied in powder selectors, making the system increase production and save electricity very significant.

Equipment Introduction

Structural composition: The interior of the powder selector is mainly composed of the outer shell, wind guide blades, rotating impellers, and cone buckets. All wearable and wearable parts are protected against wear.

Main principle: the material enters from the feed pipe and is scattered into the rising airflow through the dispersion plate. The grinding media in the material overcomes the resistance of the rising airflow under the action of gravity and falls down, and is discharged from the slag discharge port. The airflow carrying the powder rises to the classification part and enters the rotor through the guide vane for classification. The guide vane can make the airflow and powder particles produce a rotary motion for pre-classification, and capture the coarse particles thrown out by the rotor, and can also make the airflow speed evenly distributed over the height of the entire rotor. The coarse particles captured by the guide vane fall on the coarse powder cone and are discharged from the coarse powder outlet, while the fine particles and the airflow pass through the rotor blades into the middle of the rotor and are sent to the collection device from the fine powder outlet. The tail is equipped with a dust collector for ventilation and dust removal, and the fine ash collected by the dust collector is sent to the finished product warehouse by the bottom conveyor equipment.

System Configuration

The on-site transportation, dust removal, and material selection transmission systems all use SOWAKAM inverters. Due to the heavy load of the powder classifier, the load torque of the motor will change continuously during the start-stop acceleration and deceleration process. The motor is in a state of power generation, and the excess energy generated needs to be converted. In view of the working characteristics of the powder selection machine, the SOWAKAM SW200 vector inverter was used on site. The inverter receives the host computer instructions and controls the rotating motor to drive the fan blades to select materials to meet the process requirements of the powder selection machine.

Application advantages

1. The system uses the SW200 inverter to meet the process requirements of the powder selection machine, which can consume excess energy in time and realize energy-saving and stable operation of the system.

2. The speed control accuracy reaches ±0.1%, and the speed regulation range is wide, which realizes the fine adjustment of the motor speed, making the system easy to adjust, sensitive and reliable, and improving the powder selection efficiency and quality.

3. The SW200 inverter can provide complete over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, overload and other protection functions, realizing all-round protection of the motor.
